Success for junior band members

ABERGAVENNY Borough Band’s junior section recently achieved great success in their first competition at the
Greater Gwent Youth Band Festival, held at Crosskeys College.
They successfully beat off the challenge of nine other bands from around Gwent to win
their section. The band consisted of 27 players, aged eight to 19, assisted by six senior players.
The junior section are trained twice a week by Eric Powell, and were conducted in the competition by Lyndon Price.
Anyone interested in joining the band can call into the band room at Pant Lane on Tuesday or Thursday between
6.30 - 9.30 pm.
