Average house in Monmouthshire costs over £140,000

A NEW study of Wales has revealed that an average house in Monmouthshire costs 7.1 times average earnings in the area.
According to the study for GMB Wales Region, compiled by the independent Labour Research Department, the average price of a
house in Monouthshire is £142,381, while average annual earnings are £19,987. Figures are based on full time jobs in the area.
Nationally, average house prices are now at an unprecedented six times national average annual earnings.
