Children across the area mark World Book Day
Abergavenny Chronicle - 11th March 2004

PEOPLE across the world were united in their celebration of books and the joy of reading as they took part in events
and activities as part of World Book Day on Thursday, March 4. Local schoolchildren had fun taking part in a school
‘sleep over’ party for charity and dressing up as their favourite story characters to mark this special day.
Pictured here are pupils and staff of Clydach and Darenfelin Primary Schools who arrived at school dressed as their
favourite book characters to celebrate World Book Day. The youngest member to join them was ten month old Lowri,
the daughter of Darenfelin junior teacher Emma Phillips. Little Lowri joined in the fun dressed as Tigger.
