Concerned residents talk to police officers at Clydach
Abergavenny Chronicle - 11th March 2003

MORE than 50 concerned residents attended a police surgery with PC Tracy Bowen-Quirke at Clydach Village Hall recently to express their concerns over the growing problem of vandalism in the area.

Over the past few months, the amount of damage caused to Clydach Village Hall has caused uproar in the local community.

Windows have been repeatedly smashed and a number of break-ins have been reported. Needles have also been found strew across the football pitch which is used by Clydach FC. Detective Sergeant Howard Salmon, of Abergavenny Police, said he was ‘pleased’ with the turnout at the surgery and said things could only ‘bode well for the future’.

“PC Tracy Bowen-Quirke is making every effort within Clydach and the local area but needs the support of the local community and it is extremely encouraging to see she is now receiving it.

“Hopefully, these problems will cease to exist but if they don’t then we will come down with a very heavy hand”.
