Usk show organisers ensure long term future of the event by buying the show ground

With agricultural shows all over the country still suffering following the foot and mouth crisis, the successful Usk Show staged
by Usk Farmers Club has bucked the trend and ensured its suvival with the `historic` purchase of the traditional show ground
at Gwernesney.
Financed jointly by show funds, a bank loan and through the sale of `shares` to members and other interested parties, Usk Showground Ltd
will now be administered by a board of directors, led by chairman Brian Parry.
The board, which includes David Morgan, Noel Porter, David Whistance and Gerald Hawkins, Fiona Jenkins (secretary) and Hugh Green
(treasurer), held its first meeting last week Usk Conservative Club.
