Charity boxes stolen in Gilwern
Abergavenny Chronicle - 16 October 2003
TWO charity boxes each containing a ‘considerable’ amount of money have been stolen
from premises in Gilwern during the past week.
Detective Sergeant Howard Salmon of Abergavenny police, said the thefts from the Village Fishbar and
Dell Stores had robbed the charities of badly needed funds.
“Both the boxes were well supported by members of the public and contained a considerable amount of
money which was supposed to help cancer research and kidney research which has now been lost because of this despicable theft,” he said.
