Wed 14th - Sun 18th   LLantilio Crossenny Festival
The 46th Llantilio Crossenny Festival of Music and Drama will be held from 14th to 18th May 2008 and will comprise opera, classical music and jazz performances.
The programme includes performances of Handel's opera "Imeneo" which will be performed by Baroque Encounter. There will be an illustrated talk about the life and work of the late Charles Farncombe and a jazz evening in the gardens of Treadam Farm given by The Dolphin Quintet. There will also be performances of the opera "Hansel & Gretel" by children from local schools. On Sunday there will an Orchestral Concert followed by choral Evensong.

The inspirational true story of Burmese leader Aung San Suu Kyi is told in this compelling solo performance about the life of the only Nobel Peace Prize winner who is also a political prisoner. Despite being the democratically elected leader of the country, Burma’s military junta have kept Suu Kyi under house arrest for over a decade.
This powerful performance has already made sell-out appearances at the Edinburgh festival and at the Old Vic in London. Regardless of what you know or think about Burmese politics, this show is an unmissable hymn to the power of the human spirit in the quest for freedom. At The Borough Theatre
