Put simply a `Podcast` is an audio file in the .mp3 file format. We use it to broadcast news for the Abergavenny area.

The word Podcast comes from the combination of two words: "iPod" and "broadcasting." However, you don`t need an iPod to listen to it and strictly speaking it isn`t `broadcast` as it isn`t `live`.

What Will It Cost?

Do I need an iPod or MP3 player to hear the podcast?

No you don't. The audio can be played on your computer, or copied over to an iPod, other MP3 player, mobile phone or PDA - in fact any MP3 compatible device.

What is an MP3 file?

MP3s are audio files which are high quality but small in size so they are easy to download to your PC or Mac. They are fast becoming the industry standard format.

What is RSS?

Using RSS, (Really Simple Syndication) means this website can tell you when new content is added or updated. We create a new podcast of Abergavenny news every Monday. Using RSS to deliver content to your computer differentiates podcasting from downloading or streaming media because it comes to you rather than you having to go get it.

Will RSS Feeds and Podcasts Work on My Machine?

You can find podcasting and RSS software free on the internet. The whole things will work much better and quicker if you have a broadband connection but it isn't vital.

What if it doesn't work?

The owners of this website cannot help if you are having difficulty installing your chosen podcast software. You should contact its supplier.
